Story Behind the Song: "Back to the River"

“When she woke up, she knew what she was gonna do that day…the wedding ring was burning a hole in her soul, she had to throw that thing away…”

That lyric is a true story from my life….

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like writing with a Hall-of-Fame songwriter…well…it’s kind of like having songs pulled out of your soul. At least, that’s the way it felt the day that I wrote “Back to the River” with Hall-of-Famer Tom Douglas and Grammy-winner Jamie O’Hara.
