A week of cuts!
I can’t say I’ve ever had 4 songs released in one week before, but there’s been quite a flurry of activity in the first week of February and I’ve got 4 new songs out there in the world!
“Still Got It” by Cassadee Pope
Cassadee released this on her “Stages” record this week. Emily Shackelton and I wrote the song with Cassadee, and we also got to sing the background vocals on the cut! Check it out! It’s one of my fave cuts ever.
“When You Love a Girl” by the Hunter Brothers
Canadian band The Hunter Brothers has released these 2 songs on their “State of Mind” record. I wrote “Want” with Emily Shackelton and track-building cowriter extraordinare Joe Ginsberg. (I do love hearing all those brother harmonies on there! Because one of my favorite things about this song was stacking about 15 crunchy harmonies on the demo…so we were hoping the artist who cut it was gonna be able to re-create that!) “When You Love a Girl” is one of several songs that I wrote with the band, and it’s been getting a great reaction in their live shows so far! These guys are a talented bunch.
“Can’t Help Myself” by Dan Davidson
I wrote this with track-builder Greg Lawson and Canadian artist Dan Davidson, and he released it as a single this week. It was a blast writing this one - we were pretty inspired that day so it fell onto the page really quickly.
Stay tuned…more cuts to come in upcoming weeks! (I’ve had my nose to the grindstone around here.)
