The Bluebird Cafe Goes to Santa Fe
What a joy it was to represent the Bluebird Cafe and perform two nights of sold-out shows in a gorgeous vaulted-roof cabin at Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe, surrounded by a sea of candles and creative lighting design! Better yet, I got to travel with two of my favorite co-writers: Phil Barton and Emily Shackelton. We flew into Albuquerque (thanks to the Bluebird’s airline sponsor Southwest) and drove through the breathtaking expanse of New Mexico with Bluebird GM Erika Wollam-Nichols at the wheel. We even got an unexpected snowfall, which made everything seem even more picturesque.
When we weren’t performing, we had a great time exploring Santa Fe’s artistic city center full of crafts, jewelry, textiles and art. We also visited the original art installation “Meow Wolf”, which was a maze of crazy rooms that inspired a bunch of spur-of-the-moment photo shoots. (Click here to see some of the selections that I posted on Instagram.)
And I can’t forget to mention how lucky we were to enjoy the gourmet food created by Bishop’s Lodge’s restaurant, Starfire. The tortilla soup was beyond compare!
Thank you Bluebird Café and Bishop’s Lodge for the wonderful New Mexico adventure!
